Juan's career in technology predates his law practice — he spent years as a computer programmer, network manager, and IT consultant before turning that hands-on experience toward patent law. Today he helps clients identify valuable inventions, secure U.S. and international protection, and build IP assets that align with their business strategy.
That technical background informs Juan's work across a focused set of high-growth areas: AI and machine learning, cloud and edge computing, cybersecurity, computer hardware and software, and wireless communications. He also has experience in video and image processing, robotics, quantum computing, and NLP.
Juan has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications and representing clients before the USPTO — working with companies at every stage, from early startups identifying their first inventions to established organizations managing global portfolios.
