James is an experienced Patent Agent, decorated Special Operations combat veteran, and former senior electrical engineer with a career that bridges military technology and innovation. He began as a self-taught IT professional, eventually becoming the IT Director for the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne).
During this time, he authored U.S. Army Special Forces information assurance security policies and played a key role in developing tactics, techniques, and procedures for the Army's new electronic surveillance program. His military career culminated in his selection to help establish the Army's first Cybersecurity division.
After leaving the military, James pursued undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, where he led pioneering research in energy harvesting, resulting in scientific publication. Upon graduation, he worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Department of Defense, leading complex, multi-million-dollar engineering projects.
Since 2020, James has focused on patent law, specializing in AI/ML, electronics, cybersecurity, and more. He leverages his unique combination of military strategy, engineering innovation, and legal expertise to represent clients worldwide in their patent matters.
