Rishi Kumar brings two decades of aerospace and defense experience to Straylight's patent practice — including hands-on support for over a dozen rocket launches and strategic partnership management for the U.S. Space Force. As a patent scientist, he puts that technical depth to work helping attorneys prepare and prosecute patents in wireless communications, machine learning, and complex systems engineering.
Rishi's aerospace career spanned satellite systems, launch vehicles, navigation, and systems engineering. He supported Atlas V and Falcon 9 launches for the U.S. Space Force, monitoring missions from liftoff through in-orbit payload delivery, and led international partnership programs across the WGS and AEHF satellite constellations.
In his patent work, Rishi applies that systems-level thinking to technologies in wireless communications — including 5G NR, LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth — as well as computer algorithms and machine learning.
